2. Sermon Flow & Takeaways

I. The Peace We Now Have (vv. 1-2)

Because we are justified by faith, we now have real peace with God, a restored relationship and a secure standing in grace.

  • You are not on probation; you are at peace with God.
  • Stop building your identity on unstable things, stand in grace.

II. The Life We Now Live (vv. 3-5)

Suffering is no longer meaningless; in the context of grace, God uses it to produce endurance, character, and a deeper, unshakable hope.

  • Your suffering is not empty, God is forming something in you.
  • Interpret your trials through God’s love, not as His abandonment.

III. The Love That Secures Us (vv. 6-11)

God’s love is proven in this: Christ died for us at our worst, ensuring both our reconciliation and our future salvation.

  • If God loved you at your worst, He will not abandon you now.
  • Build your assurance on Christ’s finished work, not your performance.

IV. The Joy We Now Enter (v. 11)

The gospel does not end with peace and safety, it leads us into joy in God Himself.

  • Move from gratitude for God’s gifts to delight in God Himself.
  • True joy is found not just in what God gives, but in who He is.
