A Week of Prayer – Tuesday
Join us today at 7:00 pm as we take time to pray for us as a community, our leadership, and our pastoral search committee.
And so, from the day we heard, we have not ceased to pray for you, asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to Him, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God. May you be strengthened with all power, according to His glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy, giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in light. – Colossians 1:9-12
Praise God that He rescued us – that we could never follow Jesus until God made us a new creation, giving us the desire to know, love, and obey Him.
Thank God for the people in your life who have taught you the Bible and modelled what it looks like to know, love, and obey God.
Praise God for the resources that help you follow Jesus, things like: books, websites, music, podcasts, radio, etc.
Praise God for being triune, eternally existing as one God in three persons: Father, Son, and Spirit. We can have deep, authentic relationships with others because we are created in the image of God.
Pray that we would be a church that helps people to follow Christ, and in turn, those people living on mission to help others follow Jesus too.
Pray for the ministries that are run by Pineland that focus directly on discipleship: children, youth, men, women, and others. Pray even more for our homes to be greenhouses of spiritual growth for our families.
Pray for groups from Pineland that meet, that they would be a people who are seeking to encourage, instruct, love, and help each other to follow Jesus.
Pray that our relationships would be guided by the “One Another” commands of the New Testament.
Pray we would be a people to grow in their knowledge of biblical doctrine so they grow in their obedience to God and their love for people.
Pray that you would become more like Jesus. Pray the same for other believers in your life.
Pray that we would be filled and controlled by the Holy Spirit, evident through His fruit being displayed in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
Pray that a culture of discipling would form in which making disciples is viewed as an ordinary part of the Christian life.
Pray that adult members would work to disciple teenagers and not just leave it to programming.
Pray that our individual homes would be a place where active discipleship happens.
Pray that you daily preach the Gospel to yourself, remembering that the Christian life is first and foremost about what Jesus has done for you, not what you do for Him. We don’t earn God’s acceptance by doing religious things or by being nice people. The Father adopts us as His children because of the perfect life and substitutionary death of His Son. This good news empowers a life of good works. Following Jesus is the result of knowing He has already rescued us.
Pray that we would grow in being distinct from the world in love and holiness, even as we engage with outsiders.
Pray that we would individually share the gospel this week — and see more conversions!
