A Week of Prayer – Monday
Join us today at 7:30 pm as we take time to pray for us as a community, our leadership, and our pastoral search committee.
Oh come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the Lord, our Maker! For He is our God, and we are the people of His pasture and the sheep of His hand. Today, if you hear His voice, do not harden your hearts… – Psalm 95:6-8
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God. – Colossians 3:16
Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near. – Hebrews 10:23-25
After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands, and crying out with a loud voice, “Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!” And all the angels were standing around the throne and around the elders and the four living creatures, and they fell on their faces before the throne and worshiped God, saying, “Amen! Blessing and glory and wisdom and thanksgiving and honour and power and might be to our God forever and ever! Amen.” – Revelation 7: 9 – 12
Worship is an old English word for “worth-ship”. To worship God means to describe His worth, to say what makes Him worthy of praise, love, and obedience. Tell God why you adore Him.
Thank the Father for sending His Son. Praise Jesus for His perfect life, substitutionary death, and vindicating resurrection. Be thankful that the Holy Spirit applies to the work of the Son to our hearts and minds.
Praise God that Christianity is first and foremost about what He has done for us in Jesus Christ, not what we do for Him. Praise God for the love, justification, and adoption that we have because of the Gospel.
Thank God for the Bible where He reveals Himself to us, speaking most clearly about His will for our lives and not leaving us without guidance. Thank God for local churches – specially Pineland Baptist Church, our local spiritual family with whom we gather weekly to tell God how much we love Him and how much we need Him.
Thank God for the people who faithfully give of their time and money to serve and support Pineland Baptist Church.
Pray for our Sunday services to be a time of love for God and love for people.
Pray for our Sunday services to be lead with joy, peace, and mission as we focus on Jesus Christ, our Prophet, Priest, and King.
Pray for the PBC family to see Sunday services as an excellent opportunity to worship through preaching, singing, praying, giving, and serving.
Pray that the preaching of God’s Word—that it would be biblically careful and Holy Spirit saturated.
Pray that our prayers would be infused with biblical ambitions, honesty, and humility.
Pray that our songs would teach members to biblically confess, lament, and praise.
Pray for people to prioritize weekly attendance, not allowing other activities to distract from worshiping as the PBC family.
Pray that giving would be faithful, as well as joyful, consistent, and sacrificial.
Pray that the people who feel at home at Pineland to be sensitive to others who do not feel that way yet. Pray that we would be a caring, welcoming place for people to see who Jesus is and what it means to worship Him.
